How to Apply for an Emirates ID?
You must apply for an Emirates ID when applying for a UAE visa. The Emirates ID cost is usually included in the UAE residence visa when you apply for your visa with the help of a business setup consultancy. The cost of the visa depends on the emirates and the authority that issues it. It may range between 2500 AED to 7000 AED.
You must follow the processes below to apply for an Emirates ID.
- Application for an Entry permit.
You can get an entry permit if you own a company with a business set up in the UAE. If not, you must be an employee that a UAE-based company hired.

The entry permit you receive is valid for sixty (60) days from the issue date. Within those 60 days, you must do a complete medical check-up and apply for the Emirates ID. Only after that, the officials will stamp a resident visa on your passport.
- Medical Check-up.
A medical check-up is indispensable when it comes to getting an Emirates ID. You must do a complete medical check-up right after receiving your entry permit. The tests must involve tests for tuberculosis, Hepatitis B, and AIDS. If your test results are favorable, you can proceed with the process. If you have the chance of having those diseases, you will need to take further tests to confirm the possibilities. If your medical certificate declares that you might have one of the diseases mentioned above, you will not be eligible for a resident visa in the UAE.
- Application for Emirates ID
You can apply for an Emirates ID in any Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship office. You can see that most of these offices are next to Preventive Medicine centers to speed up the application process. The officials scan your eye and take your fingerprint scans during the application process for verification. They will save this data for the processes in the future, such as renewal and claiming a new one for the lost Emirates ID.
- UAE Visa Stamping.
The final step would be stamping the UAE visa into your passport. These visas are usually valid for around three (3) years.

Then will come the question about the validity of the Emirates ID. The validation period of your Emirates ID depends on the validity of your UAE visa. If your visa is valid for three years, your Emirates ID is also valid for those three years.
